A community compost project

What is it?


NBK Compost provides a way for community members to divert organic waste (including food scraps and yard waste) from landfills, contributing to the community's overall climate resilience.

We collect food scraps every Sunday at:
  • McGolrick Park (10am-1pm)
  • Transmitter Park (11:30am-1pm)

What can I compost?


  • fruit and vegetable scraps (including citrus, onions, & garlic)
  • coffee grounds or beans
  • coffee filters
  • tea
  • tea bags (remove all metal or plastic)
  • eggshells
  • dry grains
  • nuts
  • brown paper bags

What CANNOT be composted?


  • meat
  • fish
  • bones
  • cheese & dairy
  • paper towels/napkins
  • grease/oil
  • compostable or bioplastic bags
  • utencils

Sundays 10am - 1pm


Transmitter Park
Sundays 11:30am - 1pm
